I’m surprised that people actually take interest in the LFA. I thought that most of the internet “car enthusiasts” didn’t like it.
For those of you who love the LFA as much as I do…here’s a photo dump.

Green doesn’t do that car justice....but that black makes me hard

I adore it! it sounds as incredible as it looks, and isnt stupidly vented and angular like ferraris and lambos

There are very few cars that I say, “I want that in white.” This is one of them.

True. It looks simple (which isn’t a bad thing). Certainly a hell of a lot better than this:

Kinda goes along with the clean styling.

The Stig: “Ferrari F12 is the only car in the world that holds a candle to Lexus LFA”
Clarkson: “I would much rather have a Lexus LFA”
They are priced around the same. I don’t believe in cars having a soul. They are machines. I love machines. The Lexus LFA and its engineering is a machine I love.
But it’s a Toyota.... *facepalm at all the children*

The F12 has one of the best sounding engines in the world, that can’t be denied, but the LFA is more of a well-rounded car. The F12 looks awkward in some areas.

It really does. Oh my, how I want one.

I think the vast majority of the haters have never seen one drive in person. I was generally ambivalent to the LFA, only seeing it at the NYIAS and online....but then I saw a blue one drive at a HPDE at Pocono. It sounded AMAZING and was abnormally fast. I’m now a believer.

My local dealer had two, one in gray, and one in red. I’ve been in love ever since.

It’s an engineering masterpiece, and Toyota is awesome.
I got into it with a “gray” on the FP article about Toyota not having racing DNA/heritage. People who hate on Toyota are stupid faces.

Damn! Just a little short!

Actual, genuine car enthusiasts always loved it, because they understood the whole concept and philosophy behind it was to use all the know-how of the world’s most anal engineers to build the greatest driver’s car of all time. It’s a car where the numbers people who like cars but don’t love cars (0-60, top speed, ‘Ring time) were irrelevant, and the numbers that did matter (center of gravity, redline, how fast the engine reaches the redline) were more esoteric and harder to explain, as was a lot of the things they did, like going with a single clutch sequential over a dual-clutch, just because that brief pause during a shift added to the sensation of driving.
Basically, it was a car for people who can appreciate the fact that they put weights in the bottom of the steering wheel to allow it to return to center more smoothly. It was made by people who live and breathe cars for people who live and breathe cars, and nobody else.
After all the years people like Clarkson have spent going on and on about how amazing it is, people have finally started to come around.

What made you think very few car enthusiasts like it? One of the, if not the, most prominent car enthusiasts in the world, Jeremy Clarkson, says it's the best car he's ever driven.

I will forever love the LFA.

I always got the impression that it was only car people that liked it. Because non-car people didn’t know it existed.

I was largely indifferent to them...Then I saw one in person and fell in love

The engine sounds like it’s having an orgasm, what’s not to like.

I thought I knew most of the geeky stuff about the LFA. Guess that bit about the steering wheel proved me wrong.
Anyway, it’s true that this car is an experience type of supercar, not a numbers car. Even though Jalopnik and Oppo seem to have come to terms with that, Youtube commenters clearly haven’t. And I don’t think they ever will.

Pretty cool that the first one you saw was the king of LFAs.

So if you don’t like it, you’re not a genuine enthusiast?
![]() 09/14/2015 at 18:10 |

It certainly looks the business.

Once you get past the stupid adverts and some of the cars they make today, I think Toyota is a very respectable company for their innovation and heritage.

The keyboard warriors on the Internet who haven’t seen or driven one lead to my impression of that. Even some on the FP used to not like it. It seems that’s changed, though.

Go to some other websites and you’ll see people ask if it’s the new Supra or something.

I can’t unthink that now. Thanks for the more…vivid description.

Genuine enthusiasts being the only ones to like it doesn’t mean genuine enthusiasts have to like it.

The thing people forget is that they’re in the business of making cars for the mass public, and they do it very well. Of course I wish they had a stronger performance lineup, but they at least bring us some great cars over time.
![]() 09/14/2015 at 18:17 |

Well, in this day and age, I think that everyone overlooks the fact that money needs to be made somewhere to develop cars like these. Look at Porsche - even their “ordinary” cars are amazing, and yet they still get hate. Guess you can’t win.

I don’t have any love for Toyotas. That makes this one even more special, that it’s a Toyota I really like.

Yup.
![]() 09/14/2015 at 18:24 |

I wouldn’t go that far at all. You can very easily not like it and still be a real enthuiast, it’s just that the things that make it great are harder to grasp for those who aren’t into it.
![]() 09/14/2015 at 18:47 |

See what you’re getting at.

I just realised that the FRS looks like a baby LFA.

I like it, a Japanese guy has one in Marin. He came to C&C for 15min one time. None of us will use the complete power of a super car so the outright speed of it is dumb to argue. I bet it’s really great, sounds great.

It’s the new 2000GT, Nothing wrong with Toyota race cars either

Bet it did sound great. I’ve never heard one IRL before.
